As the last of the wildflowers went to seed,
I set off on my journey with great speed,
To reach the Sun before the darkness succeeds,
His warm rays on my skin is what I need.
And as the wind blows ever so coldly,
I look around one last time at the great beauty,
That we all worked so hard to bring to life,
But now must let go, as night wins over light.
I welcome the change of seasons,
I welcome my own fall,
But first the Sun may kiss me one last time,
So that my heart can turn to gold.
I find strange comfort in the impermanence of things,
Knowing that a cycle ends and another begins,
Amidst chaos, flow and change,
Everything breathes, everything just is.
Blessed Equinox & Happy Autumn!
