February 2026 Astrology

February is extraordinary, and with it comes a lot of intensity & urgency. This month is marked by squares, retrogrades & an eclipse, and opens a 6-month window of pivotal changes on a collective & personal level.

The first half of the month, all personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus & Mars) in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus. Uranus, ruler of Aquarius, is here to provoke change in order to liberate something that has been stuck for a long time. He acts as the sudden trigger that will shake long-standing foundations, narrow-minded opinions & outdated values. This can be in the form of unexpected events, encounters or situations that shock & awaken us into a different way of being.

Uranus's role is to bring a much-needed push where we've been reluctant, lazy or afraid to change. The Sky God is clearing the field to make space, albeit not very gracefully, for heavenly waters (Aquarius) to fall & fertilise the earth (Taurus), allowing for cosmic energies to come down & be anchored into our physical world.  

We've all been dreaming of utopia & a fairer world, but let's be honest, we haven't done a very good job. Uranus is here to change that, and he will use all means if he has to, because he needs to accomplish his mission before he leaves Taurus for good in April.

These transits are very uncomfortable, they rock the boat. These aren't the changes we've been desiring, but the changes we need. Judging by the dates of these transits, everything unfolds in divine timing & in perfect, calculated order.

Things aren't slowing down anytime soon, as the solar eclipse in Aquarius takes place on the same day as the Chinese New Year, ushering in the Year of the Fire Horse. As eclipses bring chaos, it will be interesting to observe how Aquarian countries, such as the USA & China, behave during that time. 

A few days later, the long-awaited Saturn-Neptune conjunction takes place at 0° Aries, marking the beginning of a new dawn for humanity.

The second half of the month is slower & more introspective, as the personal planets move into Pisces. It is time for the annual flood that washes the past year away & waters the soil to make it fertile for the new astrological year, which starts at the spring equinox. Jupiter supports this shedding & clearing of the past with a beautiful trine, offering support & showing us how much inner growth & wealth await once we've shed the load. He also brings optimism & guidance to the rocky events experienced earlier under Uranus's influence.

Finally, Mercury retrogrades in Pisces, where he expresses itself as the mystic. Language doesn't make sense in Pisces, but emotions, symbols, dreams, colours, music, poetry & art do. This retrograde is the ultimate contemplative placement where we get to explore our inner world, and other ways of communicating that transcend the rational mind.
