Full Moon in Leo, 28-29 January 2021

On this full Moon in Leo, the only aspect that appears in the heavens is a huge T-square between the Moon in Leo opposite the Sun, Jupiter & Saturn in Aquarius, all squaring Mars & Uranus in Taurus.

Visions & Words

A T-square is a concentration of energy directed towards an apex. Uranus & Mars are the focus point in this case. A T-square holds immense potential for growth and progress, but is also very difficult to access and navigate. As the full Moon brings climaxes and heightened emotional energy, the atmosphere is quite tense these days, to say the least.

The T-square is taking place in fixed signs. The energy is bottled up, as fixed signs have a tendency to resist change. Yet, change is inevitable, especially with Mars & Uranus at the apex of the pyramid: Uranus is gunpowder, Mars is the spark. In the sign of Taurus, our values, financial systems, food production, natural & material resources are shook to their core. What is crumbling shall fall and what cannot stand the earthquake shall dissolve. As Taurus is the sign of the Earth herself, it would not be surprising if earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, mudslides and other natural disasters occurred around the full Moon. On a societal level, unrest, revolt, discomfort, anxiety and arguments are likely to take place.

The Moon is opposite the Sun, Jupiter & Saturn, shining a light on the Leo-Aquarius axis. On this full Moon, themes such as heart vs. mind, ego vs. collective, individuality vs. group, personal vs. universal take centre stage.

The Moon stands alone in Leo, the sign of the Sun: she craves attention and heart connection, she wants to be revered and admired. The stellium in Aquarius, however, is looking the other way, at a greater picture, at a bigger, collective dream. We might feel overlooked or neglected this full Moon, our efforts and achievements might go unnoticed. The Moon in Leo teaches us that this is only temporary: we all shine in the Sun at different times and tonight is simply not our moment. This is an opportunity to connect with our true selves through our heart, in order to find the characteristics that make us stand out from the crowd. At the end of the day, we are our biggest supporter and we do not need a group to celebrate our victories.

When we beat our own drum, those that feel the rhythm will join the dance.

Meanwhile, Mercury is getting ready for its first retrograde of 2021. From 30 January to 21 February, Mercury stations retrograde in Aquarius. Mercury retrogrades are periods of revaluation and reassessment. In the sign of Aquarius, we might find ourselves revaluating our place in society, what we stand for and what we expect from others; we might rethink our friendships and networks or we might revisit old ideas, ideals and creations. On a collective level, we can expect Internet and technological breakdowns, travel delays and problems (especially with planes), miscommunication and disagreements around societal themes, as well as the resurgence of past societal movements.

I need you and you need me.

Together let’s combine our forces

To build the Earth

We were once promised.

🌕 Happy Full Moon! 🌕
