A total solar eclipse at 12 degrees of Sagittarius is taking place on Saturday 4 December at 8:43 a.m. (CET)!

Solar eclipses are powerful new Moons, huge portals that set off 6-month cycles of transformation and new beginnings. They bring change on a personal and on a collective level. This is a powerful time for heading towards a new direction in life.

As the Moon blocks the Sun’s rays and darkens the sky, solar eclipses remind us that there are greater forces at play and that some events are destined to happen. They invite us to surrender, by letting go of resistance and allowing events to unfold. They tend to redirect us on the right path if we have strayed away. Whatever the changes that are coming our way, we have to embrace them and trust that they are happening for a meaningful reason.

The Moon in Sagittarius is associated with freedom, philosophy of life, wisdom, higher knowledge, truth, beliefs, ideologies, spirituality, religion, faith, adventure, travel, optimism and luck. This new Moon is a good time to broaden our horizons, to discover new places, cultures, lifestyles and practices, to learn new subjects and skills or to teach what we know, to get out of the comfort zone, to review and develop our beliefs systems, to practise spirituality and to cultivate faith.

This new Moon and eclipse allows us to welcome change with an open mind, as our faith in higher powers is heightened during Sagittarius season. The Sagittarius energy invites us to try our luck, by shooting our arrows towards our desired directions, and to trust that what is meant to be in our lives shall manifest when the time is right.

The third square between Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus is getting close. This final square begs the question: Have we learned our lesson? As the battle between the old world and the new world continues to unravel, we await patiently or take active action to see which is going to give up first.

Jupiter, ruler of Sagittarius, is currently in Aquarius, squaring Mars in Scorpio. There is a collective need for freedom and meaningful human connection at this time. The energy of the square is tense and challenging, and the best way to channel this combative and excessive amount of energy is into a cause that not only aligns with our values and ideals, but which also benefits the collective. The Sagittarius eclipse brings optimism to dark times, allowing us to be hopeful and reminding us that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
